If you know my Granda you know that he is a very well informed man. He watches lots of documentaries on the television, especially ones about health. One time when he came to visit he told us about this new documentary he had watched called cereal killers. It was all about how cereal had really high levels of sugar and even ones that seem healthy are in fact not. Granola and muesli being some of these. I found this recipe for granola recently and it has no added sugar! And it is somewhat healthier than what you can find in the supermarket. Granda would be proud!

Ingredients: 2 cups rolled oats 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp sea salt 1/4 cup peanut butter (the more natural it is the healthier the granola will be) 1/4 cup honey 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Method:

Preheat the oven to 165c

Mix the rolled oats, cinnamon and salt in a bowl until all oats are evenly coated.

In a saucepan melt together the honey and peanut butter. Once it has melted remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.

Finally pour the peanut butter mixture on top of oats and mix until oats are evenly coated. Spread on a lined baking tin and place in the oven for 20-25 mins. Stir up the granola half way through. This ensures that it all gets an even bake.

Carefully break up bigger chunks of granola into bite sized pieces. Leave to cool and then store in an air tight container. Serve with milk, ice cream or Greek yoghurt and fruit!
