This bread is super simple and only takes 30 minutes from start to finish. Why would you buy bread rolls when you can make them so easily at home and they taste so much better than shop-bought bread. Plus it will make your kitchen smell like a bakery - which is always an added bonus! This recipe came from yummy Healthy Easy.

Recipe

Yield: 15

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cup warm water

  • 1/4 cup sugar (personally I could cut this down to an 1/8 cup)

  • 2 tbsp yeast (ended up being about 4 sachets)

  • 1/3 cup oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 egg

  • 3 1/2 cups plain flour

Method:

Preheat the oven to 190 C. Place the sugar and warm water into a bowl and allow the yeast to dissolve in.

Next add in the oil, salt, egg and flour, combine with a fork to make life easier! This dough is extremely wet, I added in a little more flour.

Grease a 9x13" tin with oil. Shape the dough into 15 balls and place inside the tin. The dough was very wet which made it quite hard, but I got there eventually by putting a lot of flour on my hands. Let the dough rise for 15-20 minutes.

Bake for 15-20 minutes. I took mine out 2 minutes too soon, so mine would have been perfect at about 15 minutes. These rolls are best served warm, accompanied by some homemade chicken noodle soup.
